Adjuvant for the production of a waterproof and fast-hardening paste

Sika®-4a is an admixture which, when mixed with normal Portland cement and water, forms a paste which hardens quickly, and with which serious water infiltration into concrete, stone or masonry can be stopped.

Use

Sika®-4a is used as a temporary waterproofing of wet surfaces or areas with seepage, after which a general layer of a cementitious coating or shotcrete is applied. Typical applications are tunnels and divers, mines, water reservoirs, concrete pipes and manholes. Sika®-4a can also be used for the manufacture of a fast-hardening mortar for assembly work, e.g. for fixing anchors and bolts, and other assembly work in stone or concrete that needs to be loaded quickly.
